Happy First Day of June!

This year is just flying by and I wish I could say the same for this pregnancy. It is wiping me out. I am 10 weeks a 1 day today so I am slowly making my way through this first trimester, but not with ease.

I have spent the last 4 days on the couch or in bed. So sick. So weak. Miserable.

I kept a journal throughout the first probably 25 weeks of my first pregnancy. It has been helpful to look back and see if this pregnancy is similar. I know what to expect to some degree and know when all of this should end.

Some of the captions are funny. I can be a bit dramatic but morning sickness (all day sickness) is no joke.

This Pregnancy

When I did get a little energy I decided to cut my son's hair. Yes, his first precious haircut. So long curly rat tail!

Bribery at its finest: Cars movie and crackers.

He was still far from sitting still.

Mouth stuffed full of crackers, but this was the best I could do. The front still needs a little work.

No more rat tail :)

One thing that I have to do to keep this sickness at a minimal is eat and eat about every 2 hours. I am not even hungry every 2 hours but when I feel the sickness coming on I just start chowing down.

I am not in a healthy eating type of mood although I have been loving a salad bar lately. My go to have been pickles straight from jar.

A pregnant lady and pickles. Imagine that.

And I read once that the most common consistent craving in pregnant women is NACHOS AND CHEESE.  I craved them with my first pregnancy but never had any. This time I had some. Amazing! Yes, I had to nibble on some Tums to offset the heartburn, isn't this just so much fun, but they were delicious.

And this morning we went for a little walk around town. (Go Gators!)

I am fatigued and walk like the most out of shape person on the planet, but I had to get out of bed and get some fresh air. Yes, it wiped me out and I came home feeling sick (Surprise, surprise), but I needed that little outing. Hoping to make it to the grocery store for the first time in like a month today.

Did I mention I have a fabulous husband?

He has been taking care of our little one, cleaning, cooking, running errands, all the while trying to work and study for ordination. He is the best! I am so thankful!

  3. Oh I so remember the constant nausea. I remember watermelon being the best thing in the whole entire world. I also remember having to eat every couple hours to keep my blood sugar stable. Just remember, the second trimester is right around the corner! Feel better soon!

  4. Thanks for the encouragement! I am the only human being who doesn't eat watermelon :( I try it every year but still no. I am hanging in there and praying these weeks pass quickly.
