My first trimester diet is not noteworthy, nor is it something you too should model.

The first trimester for me is about survival. Keep my food down. Lay as still as possible as to ward off the nausea. Don't overdo it. Keep my toddler fed, changed, and safe.

I eat whatever sounds good. I drink way too much sugar, I know, but there is something about 7-Up and the carbonation that does help my tummy a bit.

I have to keep something in my stomach at all times and if I get even the slightest bit on an empty stomach I start feeling sick.

Popsicles help.

Yes, the second ingredient after water is high fructose corn syrup, I am aware of this, but they help.

I guess the only healthy choice I have really made is trying to eat protein. I know protein is important in pregnancy and after all of the nausea wears off I will try to make better choices.

I do eat eggs with salsa. They keep me full and are pretty bland.

I am no fun during the first trimester. I am not myself. I am too sick to exercise. Moody. Hot all of the time. Emotional. It is a rough time in my life but it is well worth it in the end.

I am 9 weeks and 2 days to be exact and last time around 14-15 weeks I started feeling more like myself. I am grateful for another pregnancy but let's be honest, I am ready to put this first trimester behind me.

Anyone else walking through pregnancy?

How is your first trimester?

  1. I was one of those pregnant girls that everyone hated because I wasn't sick or even nauseous one time during my pregnancy...However, I have had friends that were on nausea medicine they give cancer patients they were so queasy, so I've seen both ends of the spectrum. I would do exactly what you're doing and survive! I'm so excited for you :)
